Websites and the internet can seem extremely complex, and on certain levels they are, but the fundamentals are simple. Don't let 'experts' baffle you with science. Have faith in common-sense principles and your own experience when using websites. Make your own website easy to use and to convey your improtant messages. Aim for simplicity and ease of use in all functionality. Stop The Flood to Your Inbox
Already drowning in spam? Try using your e-mail client’s filters – many provide a way to block specific e-mail addresses. Each time you’re spammed, block the sender’s address. Spammers skip from address to address, and you may be on many lists, but this method will at least slow the flow. Also, use more than one e-mail address, and keep one “clean.” Many netizens find that this technique turns the spam flood into a trickle. Use one address for only spam-safe activities like e-mailing your friends, or signing on with trustworthy businesses. Never use your clean address on the web! Get a free address to use on the web and in chat rooms. If nothing else helps, consider changing screen names, or opening an entirely new e-mail account. When you do, you’ll start with a clean, spam-free slate. This time, protect your e-mail address! Stay Off Spammed Lists in the Future Want to surf the web without getting sucked into the spam-flood? Prevention is your best policy. Don’t use an easy-to-guess e-mail address. Keep your address clean by not using it for spam-centric activities. Don’t post it on any web pages, and don’t use it in chat rooms or newsgroups. Before giving your clean e-mail address to a business, check the company out. Are sections of its user agreement dedicated to anti-spam rules? Does a privacy policy explain exactly what will be done with your address? The most considerate companies also post an anti-spam policy written in plain English, so you can be absolutely sure of what you’re getting into. .....Source: 
Recent Update#3: APS Referral Fee Agreement Added
As we all know by now, the Acme People Search (APS) program has gained its popularity as one of the most legitimate internet based business opportunities available today. But unfortunately, it has become a huge bull's-eye target for bad guys scam to exploit a loop-hole in our existing laws and agreements. Back in August, we were threaten by multiple bogus referrals' email addresses which leave us with no choice but to amend our referral agreement effective from August 24th, 2009. And the agreement stated that for future payment to be sent by Paypal or Alertpay to affiliates, the domain name of the email address on file with APS must be registered under your search engine domain name. Governed by this new abiding agreement rule, all affiliates are compulsory to complete the step 2 for their search engines before requesting any payments. For detail update on this issue click here.
But the problem is far from over just as we expected. In a couple of weeks ago, we are once again discussing in our support forum about fraudulent APS referrals. And this time, we are suspecting some of referrals activities of creating more than one APS account under different names by using single payment processor account to subscribe under step 3, which clearly breaches our Term of Service (TOS). Luckily, with our enhance security measures, this type of suspicious activity is easily detectable and therefore such accounts will be automatically disabled or closed. As such, we have make countermeasures to overcome any fraudulent activity by adding new requirements to the system. By doing so, we will firmly leave no room for scammers to exploit or counteract our system in the future. Effective from November 19, 2oo9, in order to get paid for referral fee, in addition to the August 24th new agreement update, all affiliates must fulfill two conditions:
- Must be subscribed under step 3 using Paypal or TrialPay; and
- Your subscription must be maintained without any interruptions for 45 consecutive days prior to each payday.
And people wonder why their accounts are closed. It was just yesterday during the Webinar that I was talking about fraudulent APS referrals. As the Acme People Search program has grown in popularity, it has also become a bigger target for the bad guys. Guys who try to exploit the $125 credit (which comes from my pocket) by generating bogus referral fees so they can be paid $200 or more. shubhu2busy's post is a good example of why I mentioned during the Webinar yesterday that I plan to implement additional anti-fraud measures. In fact, now is an opportune time to announce just one of those measures: Effective today (Nov. 19, 2009), in order to be paid APS referral fees, you must: a) be subscribed under Step 3 using PayPal or TrialPay, and b) you must have been subscribed for at least 45 consecutive days prior to each payday Note that you can still earn referral fees if you are not subscribed under Step 3. But in order to be paid those referral fees, both conditions above must be met. If you do not meet both conditions as of payday, your earnings will be carried forward to the next payday. (You won't lose any referral fees.)
